BREAKING: Donald Trump Found Guilty in Hush Money Trial
By Boniface Ihiasota, USA
A New York jury has found former United States President Donald Trump guilty on all 34 felony counts of falsifying business records related to a hush money payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels, Excel Magazine International can report.
This verdict marks a significant legal defeat for the ex-president, whose sentencing is scheduled for July 11.
The jury deliberated for just two days before delivering their verdict, a rapid conclusion given the case’s complexity and high-profile nature.
Prosecutors argued that Trump falsified business records to conceal efforts to illegally influence the 2016 election.
Key testimony came from Michael Cohen, Trump’s former lawyer, who admitted to lying and bullying on behalf of his former boss.
Cohen recounted a conversation where Trump expressed panic over Daniels’ potential story about their alleged sexual encounter. “‘This is a disaster, a total disaster. Women are going to hate me,’” Cohen quoted Trump as saying. “‘Guys, they think it’s cool, but this is going to be a disaster for the campaign.’”
Excel Magazine International reports that each of the 34 counts carries a maximum prison sentence of four years.
However, it remains unclear whether Trump will serve time in prison, receive community service, or be placed on probation.
The final decision rests with Judge Merchan, who will determine the appropriate sentencing in July.
