In a touching display of gratitude, Raye, barefoot and overwhelmed with emotion, expressed, “The artist I was three years ago would not believe I’m in control – I’m my own boss.”
While Raye basked in her glory, other notable mentions went to Dua Lipa, crowned Best Pop Act, and Kylie Minogue, honored with the Global Icon Award.
Dua Lipa, acknowledging her fans for their unwavering support, exclaimed, “Thank you for giving me this radical sense of confidence that I can do anything.”
Raye’s journey to victory began with her hit “Escapism,” winning Song of the Year, presented by Jo Hamilton, a former subpostmistress entangled in the Horizon IT scandal.
