Catherine, Princess of Wales, has made her highly anticipated first public appearance of the year at the annual Trooping the Colour parade.
Excel Magazine International reports that the princess, who is undergoing chemotherapy treatment for cancer, was seen smiling and waving from the Buckingham Palace balcony alongside her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
King Charles III, also receiving treatment for cancer, inspected the troops from a gold carriage, rather than on horseback, marking a notable change from previous years.
The King was accompanied by Queen Camilla as they traveled to Horse Guards Parade. The royal procession was greeted by thousands of spectators who braved heavy rain to witness one of the most significant events in the royal calendar.
Spectators lined the streets and filled the stands at Horse Guards Parade, capturing moments on their mobile phones as the royal family made their way to the ceremony.
The parade featured troops from the UK, Ireland, and the Commonwealth, with the Irish Guards taking the lead this year.
The ceremony concluded with a 41-gun salute from Green Park and an RAF flypast over Buckingham Palace, culminating with the Red Arrows acrobatic team creating trails of red, white, and blue.
Despite the gloomy weather, the public turnout was substantial, and the event proceeded with its traditional grandeur.
Anti-monarchy protesters from the group Republic were present, waving flags and chanting amidst the crowd. However, the spirit of the parade remained undeterred, showcasing the enduring appeal and pageantry of the British monarchy.
