Hollywood Legend Gena Rowlands Dies at 94
American actress Gena Rowlands, known for her iconic roles in films like “The Notebook” and “Another Woman”, has died at the age of 94, reports Excel Magazine International.
According to sources, Rowlands passed away at her home in Indian Wells, California, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
With a career spanning over six decades, Rowlands earned numerous awards and nominations, including two Oscar nominations, four Emmys, and two Golden Globes.
She was honored with an honorary Academy Award in 2015 for her contributions to the film industry.
Rowlands’ notable works include “A Woman Under the Influence”, “Gloria”, “Faces”, “Opening Night”, and “Hope Floats”, among others.
Her son, Nick Cassavetes, who directed her in “The Notebook”, recently spoke about her struggles with Alzheimer’s, saying, “She’s in full dementia… We lived it, she acted it, and now it’s on us.”
