Jennifer Lopez Responds to Critics Amid Tour Cancelation, Breakup Rumors
In the wake of her tour cancelation and persistent breakup rumors with husband Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez has decided to focus on the positive.
Days after announcing the cancellation of her This Is Me…Live tour, the “On the Floor” singer addressed recent chatter surrounding her private life, including the state of her marriage with Affleck, through her OntheJLo newsletter which was obtained by Excel Magazine International.
“It may seem like there’s a lot of negativity out in the world right now,” Lopez shared in her June 5 newsletter. “But don’t let the voices of a few drown out that there is soooo much love out there.”
She concluded her message with heartfelt gratitude to her fans: “Thank you, thank you, thank you,” she wrote. “I love you all so much.”
Lopez’s This Is Me…Live tour was scheduled to kick off on June 26 in Orlando.
However, Live Nation announced its cancellation on May 31, citing the singer’s desire to spend more time with her family and close friends.
“I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down,” Lopez, 54, expressed in her newsletter. “Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary. I promise I will make it up to you, and we will all be together again.”
Amidst the tour cancellation, rumors of a breakup with Ben Affleck have been circulating for weeks. Speculations intensified after Lopez attended the 2024 Met Gala, which she co-chaired, without Affleck by her side. Despite this, the couple has been spotted together multiple times since then.
Affleck, who shares three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, was seen sharing a tender moment with Lopez during a family outing at the YMCA in Hollywood.
The couple shared a brief kiss on the cheek in front of the cameras. Additionally, the pair was seen last month heading to a family event in Los Angeles, where Affleck was carrying party decorations alongside Lopez.
While neither Lopez nor Affleck has publicly commented on the status of their relationship, Lopez seemed uninterested in addressing the rumors. During a press conference for her movie Atlas, when asked about a potential breakup, she retorted, “You know better than that.”
Lopez’s latest film, Atlas, has been met with critical acclaim, further proving her resilience and dedication to her craft amidst personal challenges.
