MakeUp in Paris 2024: Top 5 Innovations in Beauty Revealed
The 14th edition of the boutique event dedicated to suppliers in the make-up and skincare industries has concluded with spectacular success. Held at the iconic Carrousel du Louvre, this year’s MakeUp in Paris saw nearly 150 exhibitors showcasing their latest innovations over two vibrant days, Excel Magazine International can report.
Among the numerous innovations in accessories, packaging, formulations, and full-service solutions, five stood out, capturing the attention of industry experts and attendees alike.
1. C.A.P.’s Cheeky Lipstick Concept
Stealing the show was the Cheeky Lipstick Concept by Clever Alternative Products (C.A.P.), a newcomer founded by industry veterans Thierry de Baschmakoff and Gérald Martines.
Unlike traditional refillable lipsticks, this innovative product features a unique mechanism where the sleeve moves instead of the bulk. This design minimizes the number of parts and prevents the bulk from being crushed by the cap.
“It’s an eco-designed product from the onset,” explained Gérald Martines, a sustainable innovation expert. “The PP refill cartridge is recyclable and ultra-light, consuming minimal material and energy. The exterior cartridge can be customized endlessly and is made from PET, aluminium, or any other recyclable material.”
2. Maya Refillable Lipstick Packaging by Morrama and PPK
British design agency Morrama and Chinese manufacturer PPK were awarded the Innovation & Trend (IT) Award for their Maya Refillable Lipstick Packaging.
This product combines aluminium for the sleeve with moulded bamboo and bagasse pulp for the insert, offering a sophisticated and eco-friendly alternative. Already adopted by English brand Wild, this packaging is setting new standards in sustainable beauty.
3. Livcer’s 100% PE Thermoformed Sample
Livcer continues to lead in eco-designed sampling solutions with their 100% PE thermoformed sample, which is fully recyclable. Their dedication to sustainability without compromising quality was evident, adding to the event’s theme of environmentally conscious innovation.
4. Graffiti Luminous Spray by B. Kolormakeup & Skincare
The Italian manufacturer B. Kolormakeup & Skincare made waves with their Graffiti Luminous Spray, a fresh, hydrating liquid blush spray that introduces a novel application method.
This product, which won the IT Award for make-up, is a coloured mist that sculpts and illuminates the face. Its formula includes natural esters, a PEG-free emulsifier, micronized mica pigments, and a blend of natural pearls, offering a luminous finish.
5. Fiabila’s Cleanest Gel Formula
In the nail segment, Fiabila presented the cleanest gel formula on the market, significantly reducing sensitizing agents without compromising the 21-day durability standard. “Today, we offer a formula that is the least sensitizing among those available on the market and we continue to improve it,” said Candice Jagut, Chief Marketing Officer.
The event was teeming with other noteworthy innovations such as Carte Blanche by Fareva Chromavis, a pioneering to-go makeup card concept, and Whipped Blush by MS BeautiLab, a water-based mousse for the cheeks and eyes. These products, along with many others, showcased the dynamic and forward-thinking nature of this year’s MakeUp in Paris.
As the beauty industry continues to evolve, MakeUp in Paris remains at the forefront, showcasing trailblazing products that blend innovation with sustainability, setting the stage for the future of beauty.
