Putin Vows to Retake Territory as Ukraine Pushes Deep into Russia
Russian President Vladimir Putin has pledged to “kick the enemy out of our territory” as Ukrainian forces continue their surprise offensive inside Russia.
Excel Magazine International learnt the Ukrainian military has advanced up to 18 miles (30km) into Russian territory, marking the deepest incursion since Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
In response, Russian officials have evacuated over 121,000 people from the western Kursk region, with another 59,000 ordered to leave.
Neighboring Belgorod is also evacuating residents and has issued a missile alert, warning citizens to seek shelter in basements.
Putin’s vow comes as Ukraine’s military gains momentum, raising questions about the balance of risk versus reward for Ukraine.
