Dr. Ifeoma Onyeiwu had an exceptional experience on the day of her graduation ceremony, which was held on Saturday, September 3rd, 2022, as she received an outpouring of affection and celebratory messages from those around her.
Dr. Ifeoma Onyeiwu’s graduation ceremony, which marked her academic accomplishments, was a ceremony filled with important people, attended by her loved ones who came together at Martin’s Crosswinds in Maryland to celebrate with her. Some of those in attendance were Reverend Stanley Duru from the United Kingdom, Chief (Mrs.) Genevieve Ibe (ISWA President), Ambassador Kimma Wreh, COO of Excel Global Media Group, and Dr. Nikky Nwizu Ezeani, President of the Ezinne Organization in the USA, among others.
Upon arriving at the party location, Dr. Ifeoma Onyeiwu was dressed in a blue outfit and carried a blue feathered hand fan, while her family, which included her husband Chief Sir. Eddie Onyeiwu, two sons, and two daughters (Chukwuemeka, Chinonso, Chinemerem, and Chigorom), also wore blue clothing. Later on, for her second appearance, Dr. Ifeoma changed into a red dress and had her hair styled neatly and makeup expertly applied.
Dr. Ifeoma Onyeiwu shared that she decided to complete her doctorate as a family nurse practitioner to honor her late mother’s wishes. In an interview with Excel Magazine International, she expressed gratitude for following her mother’s suggestion to enter the nursing profession, as her mother knew best. Dr. Ifeoma’s journey in nursing began more than 25 years ago in Nigeria, where she obtained her Associate degree in Nursing & Midwifery from Queen Elizabeth School of Nursing, Federal Medical Center Umuahia, Abia State, and School of Midwifery Ituk-Mbang Akwa-Ibom State, respectively.
The experience of moving to America in 1996 made me realize that my education was limited to an associate degree. This realization motivated me to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Bowie State University in Bowie, Maryland.
Dr. Ifeoma achieved several academic accomplishments, including earning a Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH), a Master’s degree in Nursing that qualified her as a Family Nurse Practitioner, a Doctorate in Nursing, and another Master’s degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). She plans to utilize these achievements to serve her community, state, and country by participating in medical missions, both in the United States and Nigeria.
It’s difficult to express in words the high regard and admiration that Dr. Ifeoma Onyeiwu receives from everyone around her. She consistently puts forth her best effort without holding anything back, both at home and in her profession. She is truly a remarkable woman.
Regarding Dr. Ifeoma’s academic accomplishments and her role as a wife, mother, and professional, her husband and children had this to say:
The celebrant’s husband, Chief Sir. Eddie Onyeiwu, expressed his excitement and lack of surprise at his wife’s significant academic accomplishment. He observed her daily dedication to her studies while also fulfilling her family obligations. He believes that no one deserves this achievement more than she does. He further noted that his wife made a promise to her late mother that she would reach the pinnacle of education, and she fulfilled that promise. Chief Sir. Eddie Onyeiwu considers his wife not only a dreamer but also a doer, and he and their children are proud of her.
The celebrant’s eldest son expressed his immense pride in his mother. He considers her a role model of someone who works hard and is always striving for self-improvement. Her go-getter attitude has inspired not only him and his siblings but also their father. According to him, his mother never gives up, even when faced with challenges, and does not make excuses. He considers her an exceptional woman.
The celebrant’s eldest daughter congratulated her mother on the remarkable achievement of completing her education. She expressed her happiness that her mother had finally reached the highest level of academic attainment after spending most of her life in school. She further added that they are all proud of her. She admires her mother for being able to balance school and work while also being present to assist her and her siblings whenever needed.
Mom, I want to congratulate you on your success. I have witnessed how hard you worked while doing 12-hour shifts at work and coming home to study. Your hard work has finally paid off, and we all have noticed it. I just want to express my love for you, and encourage you to keep achieving the impossible.”
This message of congratulations has been long awaited. I can recall my mother being in school for as long as I can remember. I have helped her with numerous papers and assignments, and now that it is all over and my mother has completed her education, it was all worth it. I am extremely proud of her and all that she has achieved, and now is the perfect time to celebrate her hard work. Mom, we are all proud of you and the example you have set for us.
